What thoughts are you harvesting?
Are you feeling the transitions of the seasons? Last week was the fall equinox- which marks the start of autumn; however here in California we are experiencing an Indian Summer. Yes, this is what we call it when our temperatures go up and the nights are pretty warm. In Chinese Medicine, we equate the Indian Summer to the Earth Element. You might wonder what does the Earth have to do with it. Earth has everything to do with it and how you manifest in your life. Harvesting takes place this time of year from the seeds that we have planted earlier this year. Besides seeds from the literal world, we can look at our thoughts as seeds. I bring this up because, obsessive thinking or WORRY is one of the imbalances of the EARTH element in Chinese Medicine. When you have such imbalances it can coagulate your chi (energy – for lack of a better translation of chi in the English language), thus leave you feeling stuck. So how do you get out of feeling stuck…one of the practices that I love is to focus on the things that you are thankful for…essentially, gratitude is the attitude to get you to that place of abundance. I challenge you to try this for 30 days and report back what your results are. …..AND yes being a great thinker is self-care, for it feeds your soul!
